Experience
Managing a city government with a budget of over $120 million is a demanding job that takes vision and experience. A government is made up of people who have dedicated themselves to serving the public and the city. It is an awesome responsibility to use taxpayer money to best serve the residents, and also to be responsible for the employment of hundreds of people.
Over the course of my nearly eight years as a Northampton City Councilor, I have been engaged in many facets of our government--from policing to parking, from budgeting to zoning, and much more. I would not be asking you to trust me with the responsibility of being your mayor if I had not first done the work to prepare myself for the position.
